Julia Abelson

Professor, Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI)

Julia Abelson is a professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact (HEI) and Director of the Health Policy Program in the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis at McMaster University. Her research interests are focused on older adult engagement (as citizens and patients) in health system decision making and research design, implementation and evaluation. Dr. Abelson is also interested in the development of public and health policies related to ageing and older adults.

Rebecca Ganann

Assistant Professor, School of Nursing

Rebecca Ganann is an Assistant Professor at McMaster University’s School of Nursing. Dr. Ganann completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Aging, Community and Health Research Unit (ACHRU) to study the impact of patient, caregiver, and community engagement in research teams. Dr. Ganann is an early career researcher with ACHRU and the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA). Her research focuses on the real-world impact of patient, caregiver and community engagement on older adults.
